the eye observes, vol 2

wait till all the images load to read, please! i saw this awesome dragonfly on my walk into work not too long ago. it was so cool. it was huge! its wingspan was probably at least as big as the palm of my hand. and it totally didnt move at all when i took its picture. both times!
thats the totally awesomer pic. and you have to know, because of the intense level of extreme suckage of the camera on my pda, that the lens was literally about two inches from its face. so cool. i snapped these pics on the way in to work. i remember thinking "wow, this would make an awesome the eye observes volume 2". but then, like the lazy tub of buttered and salted deep fried crisco that i am, i never put it up. anyway, so i forgot to add it to the blog that day. and then on the way back to my car after work (still having forgotten), i noticed...

oh noooooooo!!!! tragedy!!!!! apparently he was stuck there on the ground and thats why he didnt fly away! he cooked in the baking midwest sun!!! he was literally in the exact same place he was in when i took the pictures in the morning! he wasnt smiling for the camera, he was pleading for my help!

and then i started noticing tragedy everywhere!
the poor butterfly was dead too! and torn to shreds! oh the humanity! er... wait, not human... oh the insectity!
the little plastic froggies were drowning in the fake water in the little plastic aquarium! and i couldnt save them!
i had to work!
and my coffee cup was empty!

what a cruel, cruel world. im leaving to go cry now.
